SXSW Film on the Road - Reps from the SXSW Film Festival will be on
the road this month, as part of the Avid "Make Your Mark" seminar
series, taking place in four cities around the country in October.
SXSW reps will participate on the panel entitled "Making It: Inside
Advice on How to Stand Out and Get Noticed." SXSW's Jarod Neece will
join the New York panel on October 13. Louis Black of SXSW, will be
part of the L.A. session on October 20. And, finally, SXSW's Lya
Guerra can be seen on the San Francisco panel scheduled for October 23.
SXSW Announces Third Annual High School Shorts Competition - This
will be the fourth year for this very popular program, which is now a
regularly featured component of the SXSW Film Festival. The deadline
for entering films for the 2008 SXSW Texas High School Film
Competition is December 20, 2007. High School films can be submitted
via a special website.
SXSW Film Festival Call For Entries Continue - We are accepting
submissions of feature-length and short films in categories including
narrative, documentary, animation, music video and experimental. The
early submission deadline is Nov. 16 and the final submission
deadline is Dec. 7.
