year-round initiative created to showcase short-form storytelling via
mobile devices and the web, SXSWclick is your ticket to win an
assortment of prizes and industry exposure. Online/mobile video content
is making big waves throughout the globe, and SXSWclick is the annual
chance to get your work seen! Entries for this competition are accepted

http://sxswclick.com/news/ .

2. Coming Soon: Feedback & Panel Ratings From SXSW 2008
We extend our continued gratitude to the many SXSW registrants who
completed the post-event online survey. Comments from these surveys,
combined with panel analysis from the feedback cards handed out at the
end of each session give us a much better picture of what happened at
this year's event. Look for a recap to be posted on the SXSW Interactive
website soon, along with rankings of what panels and presentations
received the highest ratings from 2008 attendees. As always, your ideas,
suggestions and constructive criticisms help us to continue to improve
SXSW Interactive. Got even more brainstorms on how we can change the
event for the better? E-mail us now at inter at sxsw.com .

3. March 13-17: Dates for the 2009 SXSW Interactive Festival
Nothing beats Spring in Austin, right? Dates for the 2009 SXSW
Interactive Festival are Friday, March 13 through Tuesday, March 17. As
with the 2008 event, panel programming will commence on Friday afternoon
(March 13) – then jump into full swing at 10:00 am on Saturday morning
(March 14). Registration for the 2009 SXSW Interactive Festival will
begin in August. Remember, the earlier you register for the event, the
more you save on the walkup price. Also, to be eligible for the best
selection of hotel rooms for next spring, send your your name, company,
and email address to housing at sxsw.com (please title your e-mail 'Early
Bird Notification List').

4. 2009 Panel Picker: Submission Process Opens on June 2
Want you to organize a panel or a solo presentation for the 2009 SXSW
Interactive Festival? Good good good – panel submissions for next spring
will be accepted from Monday, June 2 through Friday, July 11. Complete
details on what kind of information we will need for the Panel Picker
will be posted on the SXSW website later this month. For 2009, we are
particularly looking for more expert / advanced ideas (as well as ideas
that are more technically focused). Please feel free to e-mail us at
inter at sxsw.com if you are still confused about how this process works.
--------------------
5. Get Involved: 2009 Panel Mentor Program Announced
One of the improvements we will implement for the 2009 SXSW Interactive
Festival is a panel mentor program. The idea here is that qualified
members of the online community help facilitate communication between
the SXSW staff and the many industry experts scheduled to speak at next
year's event. This program will require a significant investment of time
and energy -- and all panel mentors will be given a comp badge for their
efforts. E-mail Hugh at sxsw.com for details if you are interested in being
part of this new program (please title your e-mail 'SXSW Panel Mentor
Program').
--------------------
