Welcome to the February 2008 mini-edition of the South by Southwest 
(SXSW) Interactive Festival monthly listserve. Read below for details on 
the SXSW People's Choice Award, the "Big Idea" Photography Show from 
Pixish, as well as the impending launch of the complete panel schedule 
for the Interactive event. Additionally, this listserve contains a 
simple SXSW Interactive-related trivia question. Provide the correct 
answer and you can win a FREE registration to this year's event. The 
2008 SXSW Interactive Festival happens Friday, March 7 through Tuesday, 
March 11 in Austin, Texas, an epicenter of creative thinking and 
positive vibrations.

1. The SXSW People's Choice Awards: Vote Daily for your Favorite Finalist

The judges had their say -- now it’s your turn! Sign up to vote daily 
for your favorite finalists from this year’s SXSW Web Awards competition 
at http://sxsw.com/peoples_choice. Members of the online community can 
vote once daily until the voting deadline at midnight on Monday, March 
3. The People’s Choice Award recipient (along with the Best of Show and 
eighteen category winners) will be announced at the 11th Annual SXSW Web 
Awards Ceremony // Presented by Adobe on Sunday, March 9 at the Hilton 
Austin Downtown. This highly-entertaining evening includes the Web 
Awards Pre-Party, plenty of industry peers and emcee Eugene Mirman!

2. Send Us Your Photos: The SXSW "Big Idea" Photography Show

We always knew SXSWers were a talented bunch. So we asked SXSW attendees 
past and present to submit their best photos on the theme "My Big Idea" 
to Pixish.com, the new site by SXSW alum Derek Powazek. The submissions 
were voted on by the crowd and then selected by judges. The results are 
amazing. Check them out in the SXSW Gallery Show on display on the 4th

3. Just Say Cheese: 2008 Badge Uploading Process

Are you already registered for the 2008 event? Then make the 
badge-pickup process in Austin quick and painless by uploading a 
passport-style headshot for your SXSW badge. Just login to your Online 
Registrants Directory listing at 
https://regdir.sxsw.com/registrants/login, click on 'BADGE' and follow 
the directions. This interface will also allow you to make any necessary 
corrections to your Badge information. If you don't remember your user 
name and password, use the above link to retrieve it. Finally, please 
remember that badge pick-up hours for this year are slightly different 
than in previous years. For 2008, registration opens at 10:00 am on

4. Happy Valentine's Day: Complete Panel Schedule to Launch Thursday, 
February 14

In addition to the most dreaded holiday of the year, this Thursday marks 
the launch of this year's SXSW Interactive Panel Schedule. Stay tuned

biographical information on all the amazing speakers coming to the

SXSW Interactive opened the People's Choice Award voting today -- having 
announced the list of finalists from this year's SXSW Web Awards 
competition this past Friday. For a chance to win a FREE registration to

a FREE badge for the 2008 SXSW Interactive Festival, but this prize does 
not cover any associated travel or lodging expenses.

Person who wins registration will be notified by e-mail. This person's 
name (as well as the correct answer to the February trivia question) 
will be posted on the SXSW Interactive website next week.
