Welcome to the May 2007 edition of the South by Southwest (SXSW)
Interactive Festival monthly listserve. SXSWclick is a year-round
initiative created to showcase short-form storytelling via mobile
devices and the web; entries for the 2007 competition are now being
accepted. Also, ratings for panels at this year's SXSW Interactive
Festival have now been posted on the SXSW website. Read below for
details on these points as well as for information on how you can win a
FREE FREE FREE registration to next year's SXSW Interactive Festival
(scheduled March 7-11, 2008 in beautiful Austin, Texas).

1. 2007 SXSWclick Competition Now Accepting Entries
SXSWclick is a year-round initiative created to showcase short-form
storytelling via mobile devices and the web. Entries for this year's
competition are being accepted through Friday, June 15. Winner of this
year's Grand Jury Prize receives a MacPro Workstation as well as an
Apple Cinema display, all courtesy of iThentic. Surf to

2. Scores and More: 2007 Panel Ratings Now Posted on SXSW Website
Panel ratings from the 2007 SXSW Interactive Festival have now been
posted online. This is your chance to see what attendees liked a lot
(and not so much) at this year's event, as compiled by the feedback

3. Constructive Criticism: General Event Feedback Also Available
In addition to these panel ratings, the website also contains general
feedback about what went right and what needs improvement at SXSW
Interactive. This general feedback was culled from post-event survey

4. Audio Overload: More 2007 Panel Podcasts Available Online
Need something good to listen to? Then click to the podcast page to hear
full-length audio recordings of panel content from this year's SXSW
Interactive Festival. New content added every week to this page --

5. 2008 Panel Programming: Proposals Accepted Beginning June 1
Dates for the 2008 SXSW Interactive Festival are Friday, March 7 through
Tuesday, March 11. A significant portion of panel programming for next
year's event will come directly from ideas submitted by the SXSW
community. Proposals for 2008 panel programming will be accepted
beginning Friday, June 1. Stay tuned to the SXSW Interactive website
(and to this listserve) for complete details on the panel submission
process.

6. SXSW Web Awards: Never Too Early to Start Thinking about 2008
The SXSW Web Awards uncover the industry's best new sites, new talent
and new trends. We will accept entries for the 2008 Web Awards beginning
September 1 -- look for an announcement about new categories for 2008

According to survey forms completed by 2007 SXSW Interactive Festival
registrants, the most popular session at this year's event was
"Convergence Culture: An Interview with Henry Jenkins." According to one
attendee, this session was "fan-freakin-tastic"; another wrote "this was
passionate and inspiring"; a third registrant remarked "thoughtful,
relevant, funny." For a chance to win a FREE registration to the 2008
SXSW Interactive Festival, name the title of the book that Professor
Jenkins released in August 2006.
