Welcome to the August 2006 edition of the South by Southwest (SXSW) 
Interactive Festival monthly listserve. Read below for more information 
on the recently relaunched SXSW Interactive website. Also explained is 
the brand new SXSW Interactive Panel Proposal Picker, which gives the 
online community the power to help determine programming for next 
spring's event. Finally, the following listserve contains important 
information on how you can win a FREE FREE FREE registration to the 2007 
SXSW Interactive Festival, scheduled March 9-13 in beautiful Austin, Texas.

1. That's So Cool! SXSW Website Relaunches with New 2007 Graphics

On August 1, the SXSW website was relaunched with amazingly-innovative, 
super-exciting 2007 graphics. Visit the Interactive page at 
http://www.sxsw.com/interactive to keep track of the most current 
developments for next year's event. New content is featured on the "Bits 
& Bytes Blog" on the right side of the page. As noted on the website, 
dates for the 2007 SXSW Interactive Festival are Saturday, March 9 
through Tuesday, March 13. Meanwhile, the 2007 SXSWeek runs Friday, 
March 9 through Sunday, March 17.

2. Panel Proposal Picker Lets You Help Choose 2007 SXSW Programming

Traditionally, some of the best ideas for panel programming at the SXSW 
Interactive Festival have come from the extensive SXSW community. For 
2007, we are accelerating this process by enabling users to choose which 
of these panel ideas they feel are most relevant to the event. For more 
information, click to the SXSW Interactive Panel Proposal Picker at 
http://2007.sxsw.com/interactive/panel_picker/. Hurry, voting deadline 
for Round One of this process is September 8. Also, do you want to have 
your panel idea to be part of Round Two of the SXSW Interactive Panel 
Proposal Picker? If so, e-mail hugh at sxsw.com for details on submission 
process. Hurry, the final deadline for submitting panel ideas for next 
year's event is August 21.

3. Submissions for 2007 SXSW Web Awards Now Being Accepted

The SXSW Web Awards honor those who are pushing the boundaries of this 
medium. Entries for the 2007 Web Awards competition are now being 
accepted. If you are on the cutting edge of web design, then be sure to 
enter your amazing online destination in a competition that showcases 
the most exciting new developments in the web world. Winners of the SXSW 
Web Awards will be revealed at the gala Web Awards Ceremony on Sunday

4. Winners for 2006 SXSWclick Competition Announced

"Popularity Contest Award" (as voted on by thousands of web surfers from

5. Hear Ye Hear Ye! Even More Podcasts of 2006 Panels Available Online

A majority of the panel sessions from the 2006 SXSW Interactive Festival 
are now available online as FREE podcasts. Check out the podcast page at

from this year's event. These SXSW Interactive panel podcasts are also 
available as FREE downloadable content on the Apple iTunes store.

6. R U Really Good with Words? Writers Needed for New SXSWorld Magazine

Another new development for SXSW 2007 is the quarterly magazine 
SXSWorld. We are currently looking for talented writers to help with 
content for this inaugural issue, which will be released in early 
November. If you are interested in being involved with SXSWorld, then 
please send a sample of your writing (in either text or link format) to 
hugh at sxsw.com. Contributing writers for this publication are eligible to 
earn a FREE registration to the 2007 SXSW Interactive Festival -- or can 
choose to be paid in cash.

8. 2006.dconstruct.org Scheduled September 8 in Brighton, England

If you like the SXSW Interactive Festival, then we think that you will
